Chargers Make NFL Playoffs for 1st Time Since 1995

The San Diego Chargers are back in the National Football League playoffs for the first time since 1995. San Diego plowed through snow Sunday in Cleveland to blanket the Browns, 21-0. San Diego officially clinched its first AFC West division title since 1994 when the second-place Denver Broncos fell to the Kansas City Chiefs, 45-17.

Several playoff berths remain unfilled with two weeks remaining in the regular season. Despite winning just their sixth game, the New Orleans Saints have a slim chance at the playoffs with a 21-17 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Saints are tied with the Carolina Panthers and Saint Louis Rams for the final NFC slot. The Arizona Cardinals beat the Rams, 31-7, while the Atlanta Falcons beat the Panthers in overtime on Saturday, 34-31.

The Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers are battling for a division title. The Vikings beat the Detroit Lions, 28-27. The Packers have already secured a playoff spot, but stumbled to the Jacksonville Jaguars, 28-25.

The Philadelphia Eagles surged to a franchise best 13-1 record with a 12-7 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
